Dennis Okari

Dennis Okari, a renowned Kenyan investigative journalist, has embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining FundedNext as their Official Partner for the Africa region. This appointment signifies a significant shift from his two-decade-long tenure in journalism to a burgeoning role in the financial sector.

In his new capacity, Okari will be based in South Africa, where he aims to spearhead initiatives that empower African traders. Announcing his new role on his official X page, Okari expressed enthusiasm about building impactful projects for Africans in the trading community.

FundedNext, a proprietary trading firm, welcomed Okari's appointment, highlighting their commitment to strengthening their presence in Africa and supporting the continent's vibrant trading ecosystem.

Okari's career in journalism includes notable positions at Standard Group, Radio Africa Group, BBC News, and NTV Kenya, where he served as the Special Projects Investigations Editor until January 2023. His investigative work garnered national attention, particularly his exposés on critical issues affecting Kenya.

Following his departure from mainstream media, Okari ventured into the financial sector, focusing on forex trading and mentorship. By October 2024, he had partnered with Exness, a brokerage firm, as a professional trader and mentor, further solidifying his commitment to financial education and empowerment.

Okari's role at FundedNext marks a deeper engagement with proprietary (prop) trading, where firms utilize their own capital to conduct trades and generate profits. This model differs from traditional brokerage services and underscores a growing trend in Africa's financial markets.

The African trading landscape is experiencing rapid growth, fueled by increased smartphone usage, fintech adoption, and financial literacy initiatives. Okari's appointment is poised to contribute significantly to this evolving ecosystem, offering mentorship and resources to aspiring traders across the continent.
