Spain Triumphs Over Netherlands in Nations League Quarter-Final.

Spain secured their spot in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals after a thrilling encounter against the Netherlands, culminating in a 5-4 penalty shootout victory following a 3-3 draw in regular and extra time.

The match at Mestalla Stadium was a rollercoaster of emotions. Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring for Spain with an early penalty, but the Netherlands responded with a penalty conversion by Memphis Depay. Oyarzabal struck again to restore Spain's lead, only for Ian Maatsen to equalize, sending the game into extra time.

In the additional period, 17-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal showcased his burgeoning talent by netting a remarkable goal, putting Spain ahead once more. However, the Dutch side leveled the score again with a penalty from Xavi Simons.

The ensuing penalty shootout was intense. Both teams missed their fourth attempts, but Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simón emerged as the hero by saving Donyell Malen's shot in the sixth round. Midfielder Pedri then calmly converted the decisive penalty, propelling Spain into the semi-finals.

This victory sets up a semi-final clash against France on June 5 in Stuttgart.
