Paraguayan forward Julio Enciso continues to shine in the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. In the recent 2-2 draw between Paraguay and Colombia at the Estadio Metropolitano in Barranquilla, Enciso scored a stunning long-range goal that secured the equalizer and extended Paraguay's unbeaten streak to eight matches.
Colombia initially took the lead with early goals from Luis DÃaz in the 1st minute and Jhon Jader Durán in the 13th minute. However, Paraguay showed resilience and managed to reduce the deficit before halftime with a goal from Junior Alonso.
In the second half, at the 62nd minute, Enciso received the ball outside the box, dribbled past three defenders, and unleashed a powerful strike that found the top left corner of Camilo Vargas' net. After a VAR review for a potential offside, the goal was confirmed, securing the draw for Paraguay.
This result keeps Paraguay in fifth place on the table with 21 points, while Colombia sits sixth with 20 points, having gone four matches without a win. Enciso's impressive performance further strengthens his key role under coach Gustavo Alfaro and highlights Paraguay's strong form on their journey toward World Cup qualification.
