Al Nassr FC moved one step closer to winning the Saudi Pro League title after a thrilling 4-2 victory over Al Shabab FC on Thursday night.
Portuguese forward João Félix delivered a sensational performance by scoring a hat-trick, while veteran superstar Cristiano Ronaldo added another goal to help Al Nassr extend their lead at the top of the table to five points.
Félix wasted no time making his impact felt, finding the back of the net just three minutes into the match before doubling the advantage early in the first half. Al Shabab attempted to fight back through goals from Yannick Carrasco and Abderrazak Hamdallah, but Al Nassr maintained control throughout the encounter.
Ronaldo then stole part of the spotlight in the second half by scoring his 100th Saudi Pro League goal, another remarkable achievement in his legendary career. The Portuguese icon calmly finished from close range after a dangerous cross from Sadio Mané.
Félix later completed his hat-trick to seal an important win for Jorge Jesus’ side as the title race enters its final stages. The victory pushed Al Nassr to 82 points from 32 matches, while rivals Al Hilal SFC remained second on 77 points with only a few games left in the season.
Speaking after the match, Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus admitted that the upcoming derby against Al Hilal could be decisive in the title race. The highly anticipated clash is expected to determine whether Ronaldo finally secures his first Saudi Pro League crown since joining the club.
The result also highlighted the growing chemistry between Ronaldo and Félix, whose partnership has become one of the league’s most dangerous attacking combinations this season. With the campaign nearing its conclusion, Al Nassr fans are increasingly optimistic that the club can end the season with both domestic and continental silverware.
