Barcelona Make History With 3-1 Victory Over Real Betis

Defending champions FC Barcelona ended their final home game of the La Liga season in style after defeating Real Betis 3-1 at Camp Nou in an emotional and record-breaking night for the Catalan giants.

The win ensured Barcelona became the first team in Spanish top-flight history to win all 19 home matches in a 38-game La Liga campaign under manager Hansi Flick.

Raphinha Leads Barcelona Charge

Brazilian winger Raphinha was the standout performer of the night, scoring twice to inspire Barcelona to another dominant victory.

The breakthrough arrived in the 28th minute when Raphinha curled a brilliant free-kick into the bottom corner after Barcelona had already created several early chances. Goalkeeper Álvaro Valles had denied multiple efforts before eventually being beaten by the Brazilian’s precision strike.

Barcelona continued to control possession and looked dangerous throughout the first half, with João Cancelo and Fermín López both coming close to extending the lead.

Betis Fight Back After Defensive Error

Real Betis improved after the break but gifted Barcelona a second goal in the 62nd minute. Defender Héctor Bellerín lost possession in a dangerous area, allowing Raphinha to calmly finish for his brace.

Betis responded quickly after VAR awarded them a penalty following a foul involving Gavi and Isco converted from the spot in the 69th minute to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

However, Barcelona restored their two-goal cushion moments later when João Cancelo fired home a stunning long-range effort to seal the victory and spark celebrations around Camp Nou.

Emotional Farewell For Lewandowski

The night was also significant for Robert Lewandowski, who made his final home appearance for Barcelona after four memorable seasons with the club.

The veteran striker received a standing ovation from supporters as he was substituted late in the match, leaving the pitch visibly emotional. Teammates and fans paid tribute to the Polish forward, whose goals played a huge role in Barcelona’s recent domestic success.

Raphinha later praised Lewandowski’s professionalism and influence in the dressing room, describing the club legend’s farewell as a special moment for the entire squad.

Barcelona Finish Strong Ahead Of Next Season

Despite already securing the league title, Barcelona maintained their intensity and professionalism, showing why they have dominated Spanish football this season. The victory capped off a historic home campaign and further highlighted the progress made under Flick’s leadership.

For Betis, the defeat does little to overshadow what has been an impressive season, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side already securing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
